Should The Miami Dolphins Draft Matt Ryan with the #1 pick?

Should the Dolphins draft Matt Ryan the Boston College QB with the #1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft?

Note: as of today the Dolphins have been negotiating with Jake Long the Michigan Tackle but this doesn't necessary mean he will be the pick. Chris Long the Virginia DE is also another strong possibility?

Chris Long is much more of a sure thing than Matt Ryan, unlike other top quarterbacks than were on college, Ryan didn't make a fear on the defenses of the other team, pick long and who knows he might be better than mario williams

no, i don't think so. he will not make an impact there for at least two to three years if they do. they need more help on the defense. they can find a QB elsewhere.

best bet will be Chris long he fits their 3-4 system.

safest bet is Jake long. look what Thomas did for Cleveland last year.

I don't think Matt Ryan is the aswer. With such a bad season they should go with a safer choice, Chris Long or Jake Long will be at least decent, but who knows how he will do and if he doesn't perform, the dolphin fans will be mad.

No, but Atlanta should. miami will draft Jake Long instead. #2 will be Dorsey to Rams. Dallas will trade up for Mcfadden.

I would prefer Chris Long. but they desperately need a QB. so Brohm, Henne, Flacco (One of them) need to be added into the fold. If beck works out then great. but you cannot just hope Beck works out then go find another one just like that if he doesn't. They have been doing that since Dan left.

Sure, If it is a good fit for their team. however, they recently drafted a quarter back in John Beck and they probably will not draft another quarterback with the #1 pick. They seem to be leaning toward Jake Long.

No. They used a high pick to take John Beck last year, and there's no way that they'll give up on him so quickly. I think it's a fairly sure thing that they'll take Jake Long, and I think Long is a smarter pick for their franchise than Ryan.

It would be a mistake for the Dolphins to take a QB as #1. They have far too many holes in their offensive line that need to be fixed before any QB can reasonably be expected to perform. They still have Beck from last year's draft and I think they're expecting him to be in for the long haul.

It's either Jake Long (10 less sacks) or Vernon Gholston of THE Ohio State University (10 more sacks).

Not McFadden (3000 all-purpose) or Matt Ryan (3000 passing).

No they should not. They need a lot of help and if you get Ryan you will have to pay a lot more because QBs that are drafted #1 get more money. Not to mention he hasn't proven anything yet. They will be better off getting a lineman that can help immediately.
