The Quotable Johnny Weir

[Blogger's note. as happens often when Johnny Weir is quoted by different writers, there is a discrepancy in the reporting. here are three versions of what Johnny said when commenting during the 2006 Olympics on Chinese pairs skater Zhang Dan after her horrible fall on a quad throw that injured her too seriously to continue skating immediately. after a four minute break, she and partner, Zhang Hao, resumed their program and went on to win the silver.]

That girl, I would buy her diamonds if I could afford it. I have no idea how she got up. it looked like the type of fall that could render somebody unable to have children. I have such respect for her for pushing through it.

That girl, I would buy her diamonds if I could afford it. it seemed like the type of fall that could render someone unable to have children. it looked like it hurt that much.
