There are plenty, September 11, 2001 was one of them. The speech made by President Roosevelt on December 8th, 1941 had those famous words "December 7th, 1941 – a day which will live in infamy" is the origin of that statement, but there are plenty of other times of "infamy", such as the concentration camps that followed during WWII. look up "infamy" to understand the meaning of the word, and then see what you think you should write about.

The word "Infamy" usually is associated with a tragedy.
09-11-01. Over 3000 American citizens killed on American soil in a terror attack.
Then on 09-14-01 our President, George W. Bush, stood on Ground Zero and said, "I hear you. and pretty soon the people who tore down these walls are going to hear you."
In the days to follow, Rudolph Guliani (sp?), then Mayor of NYC, became affectionately known as "America's Mayor" for his leadership during a time of crisis. Britain's Prime Minister, Tony Blair, committed political suicide by doing the right thing and committing to stand with America.
Those were, indeed, days of infamy.
