Tim and Eric celebrate ‘Chrimbus’ in Nashville

In case you needed yet another holiday to celebrate this season, allow Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim to introduce "Chrimbus," which the bizarre TV pair claims is celebrated on Dec. 5.

"It's a season of receiving," Wareheim explains. "The way it works is you have a Chrimbus bush in your office, and Winter Man comes in at the beginning of lunch. if you're lucky, Winter Man will leave a present in your office. you celebrate at the end of your lunch break. It's a quick holiday."

But the two have been celebrating for more than a month with their "Chrimbus Spectacular" tour, which comes to Nashville's Cannery Ballroom (1 Cannery Row, 251‑3020) on Friday, Dec. 3. It's their way of bringing the patently surreal, disorienting comedy of their Cartoon Network series Tim and Eric Awesome show, great Job! to a live audience.

Tim and Eric — who directed a music video for Nashville piano-popper Ben Folds in 2008 — get a chance to show off their musical side live as well. their hard-rock outfit (its name isn’t so much something we can type on this family website, but it’s easy enough to find) is set to close out the evening. Heidecker says they perform best in front of audience members who understand what they're about to witness.

"You're just going to get a big, stupid, silly show with singing and dancing, and Tim and Eric in tight-fitting clothes, prancing around the stage, and hopefully making some portion of the audience sick."

This was all too enticing an offer for many Nashvillians: the show is sold out.

Watch Tim and Eric’s Ben Folds “You Don’t know Me” video after the jump. (But beware: There’s a naughty word.)
