I think so. I don't regret him leaving us though
Nope. He's going to become a Twin, and then all of a sudden break out. I hope.
He should. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Maybe he can find some where and pitch for a month. he won't be involved in the playoffs that much is true. Today is the deadline for rosters to be finalized for playoffs.
No, someone will sign him. I dont think there are any regrets, because he will sign with a team and depending on what team he could be a 3, 4, or 5 starter… maybe the mets?
No, he will probably be picked up before the end of the year by a team who needs pitching who is also in a play-off hunt. Maybe Texas?
Brad Penny had to leave the Red Sox for the last several appearances were terrible. as he gave up alot of runs and his E.R.a. jumped considerably and he lost important games for the Red Sox as a starting pitcher.
According to reports, he maybe hooking up with the Colorado Rockies as they have a shot for the Wild Card. Brad Penny also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers when Jim Tracey was the manager. he is friendly with Jim Tracey and Tracey can add him onto the staff. as the Red Sox will pick up Penny's salary.
Colorado may look to Penny as a starter because he has experience and may come up with a few good games. Some other teams such as the Marlins (who he had previously played for) may not be the team at this time that Penny is trying to be associated with after getting his release from the Boston Red Sox.
The Giants are going to sign him.
Doubt it. Why would any team be desperate enough to claim Penny? He's making $5M for the season, figure he was released with about 1/4 of that left, so any team taking him with a waiver claim would be liable for his full freight, around $1.25M.
Picking him up as a free agent only requires signing him to the major league minimum (he can request more, but unless there's significant demand for his services, that's not gonna happen), which a pro-rated share for the remainder of the season works out to less than $100k. and if he doesn't get signed by tonight, he's not eligible for postseason play — and frankly, given his performances, I can't see any team squandering a precious postseason roster slot on him.
Of course he could go all Smoltzie and pitch like an ace after leaving Boston — it's probably a secret Yankees plot, right? — but I don't think that lightning is going to strike twice.
Someone will sign him for pocket change.
No one ever regrets leaving Boston for any reason! he will resurface. I doubt that the Yankees or any of the contending teams will bother trying to get him. he hasn't really been good for a couple of seasons.
I think he would be crying constantly, yes he should regret leaving the Red Sox.
alot, starting pitcher
