What CMS do I need for my site ?

I would like to create sites like: Mashable, CNET, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple, Perez Hilton. Pretty much any sort of pro site, With the lot; And I mean the lot please.

You need way more than CMS for sites like that.

You should also give ExpressionEngine a serious look. It is more flexible than WordPress (although it's a great platform and nearing a true CMS), and is easy to update and maintain.

However, a lot of the sites you mentioned are major undertakings and require the appropriate resources. If you're a programmer yourself that's great. If not, be prepared to have a realistic budget, resource and planning.

Create a "specs" list by listing the features you want, as CNET is quite different than Perez Hilton, and of course Apple or Microsoft in terms of functionalities as well as design.
