This week’s shuttle launchThe delayed Shuttle Discovery launch is now slated for Thursday. NASA has now set the shuttle launch time for 3:29 pm eastern time.
The launch still could be in jeopardy as there is an 80% chance of rain in the forecast for the cape. the shuttle is making a scheduled trip to the International Space Station to deliver supplies. this is thought to be the last flight for Discovery as the three shuttles are being retired due to age.
The Discovery crew will be delivering a permanent storge room for the astronauts aboard the Station. the mission is expected to last 11 or 12 days.
After it returns, Discovery will become an item on display in a museum.
